The ASF Foundation Alabama State Games began in Auburn, AL in 1983 with the very first Opening Ceremonies. Today it has become Alabama's largest annual multi-sport amateur athletic event with over 25 sports and hundreds of events.
The Senior State Games program allows competition for senior citizens by utilizing the Nintendo Wii system to help residents continue to be active while improving balance, posture, strength, range of motion, problem solving, decision making, cognition and attention span.
The ASF Foundation's Honoring Our Heroes program is part of its commitment to teach Alabama student-athletes good citizenship by highlighting the sacrifices made by others to keep our community, state and country a free and safe society.
The ASF Foundation started the Student Ambassadors program in 2001. Being a Student Ambassador is an honor that presents a rare opportunity for high school students to further develop their skills development in many different areas.
